From Golden Lattes to Tender Baths: A Mother's 40-Day Ritual
The 40-day journey began with
meticulous planning, a culmination of wishes gathered from conversations with
loved ones, and personal reflections noted down before the delivery, Google
searches. Once home, after a much-needed rest, I, with the assistance of my
dear ones, transformed my room into a haven tailored to my desires. The bed
adorned with soft pillows – one supporting my back, another for feeding, and a
precautionary one to prevent any baby mishaps. My table hosted a calendar from
Ramakrishna Mission, offering daily uplifting thoughts, a space for medicines,
baby essentials, my chanting beads, and colorful stones to tally my chants.
Soft toys added a touch of joy, and a cozy rug marked my sleeping spot, while
the cupboard stored treats like laddus and dry fruits. ππ‘✨
Falling in love with the routine:
waking up to savor Appa's special golden latte! Embracing the morning chores,
from cleaning, sweeping, hand mopping my room to opening the windows.
Organizing the baby's essentials, from clothes to powders and kajal, and
getting used cloth & wipes ready for washing. All accompanied by the
rhythmic chant of Takurji's name, creating a harmonious start to each day. πππΌThe oil massage and hot water splash, followed by the rejuvenating fumigation, erase not just this life's pains but echoes of the past, then a tight tummy tie with a cotton cloth Welcoming my baby after his massage and bath, holding the newborn in my arms, created an unforgettable cocoon of warmth. ππΆ✨
Night-time rituals unfold with preparations for the swift bath. As I ready the warm water, Appa (Sometimes mine/Sometimes his) brings the new-born, placing him gently on my legs. The delightful act of pouring the comforting warmth and tenderly drying the little one creates an utterly adorable feeling. ππ«π
Creating a cozy haven by placing him in the cloth cradle and gently swinging—a moment that exudes the utmost warmth and tenderness. ππΆπ
