This trip had been meticulously planned and the anticipation was running high. With our little boy in tow, our excitement knew no bounds. I cherished those moments of preparing for the journey: packing his favorite food, sun-kissed flattened rice (avalakki), homemade snacks, tiny socks, delicate rompers, and all the necessary toiletries. Upon reaching our destination and settling into our cozy cottage, our little one's face lit up with delight. Finally, he could explore freely. The surroundings were a picturesque blend of dense forest, majestic mountain vistas, and crisp, cold weather. The three of us found solace in watching the rain pour down through the window. Our little explorer was on a mission, discovering a world of new objects to grab and run with. The rain persisted, and the desire for a steaming cup of coffee grew stronger by the moment. So, we ventured to a quaint cafe, our little one joining us in sips (on a rotational basis, of course). Returning to our cottage, our t

After lunch, we all gathered in the cozy living room, the rain pouring outside the window, creating a soothing backdrop. Some of us were engrossed in the morning newspaper, others busily deleting chats on our phones. Maava, with a twinkle in his eye, stumbled upon an article about International Coffee Day, and an idea began to brew. "We should celebrate International Coffee Day this evening," Maava suggested, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. He volunteered to take charge of the little boy, who had been bouncing off the walls. The coffee decoction steadily dripped in the kitchen, and Maava embarked on the challenging mission of lulling the hyperactive youngster to sleep. We, one by one, tiptoed to the doorway, stealing glances to check if the little one had finally succumbed to slumber. As the clock struck 4, Maava could wait no longer. He appeared from the bedroom, demanding his well-deserved coffee. We all gathered around, sipping the fuming filter coffee, eac

Every single night, being his snug place!!!!!

On a moonlit night, his face glows, and the r hythm of rain  and breeze tempts me to eat up his cheeks. As I approach him, his peaceful sleep is disrupted. I realize that he begins to cry, but fortunately, he simply wiggles his tiny feet, and the gentle jingle of his anklets makes it more therapeutic. His delicate hand tightly holds onto mine, and this is EUPHORIA!!!! And he, who trembles in his drowsy voice to check, if his beloved pie is sleeping  soundly. @sudarshanams  Appa to my Pie❤️ I wish and pray, may this entire scene linger as a fragrant memory in my heart eternally, ready to be cherished whenever I seek solace.

The Chai Stories

Way back home looking at various Chai Stalls he asks, "Irani Chai? Masala Chai? Want to try this new Chai Shop? how about our usual Chai place?" for all these my answer remained same that's "No!" I had this great plan of brewing some masala chai, filling the two mugs full of chai, being in our snug place, relishing it sip by sip looking at the lil 💙 crawling, shaking its lil pumpkin 😍 Coming back home and looking at the sun kissed empty Chai jar we realize that there is no more chai powder left also the new order has not yet reached!! Sushan tries to control his laughter and I act(overact?), as if that's totally fine🙉 deep within I knew how much I long for Chai then!!! I keep some milk for boiling meanwhile started sorting the things (🤤) from the bag that Amma had given. Wild mangoes, fruits, bangles and masala chai powder!!!! I stopped sorting the remaining and looked at him who was playing with the lil 💙 He said, "I don't mind sipping some

After spending long, long hours at work and then driving for hours together, he lies on the bed with the alarm set as 3.a.m. His eyes said how much tired he was though he did not tell! He had planned an early morning drive so that he could resume work as early as possible. Tantadaaanaa!!! The Lil 💙 heart had some other plan for him. After the sumptuous dinner, the lil💙 jumped into the bed. His Appa had stuck himself to the wall and had slept on his tummy. The Lil 💙 after completing the two rotations, crawled towards me and started making noise followed by the laughter, as if he was explaining how he was going to annoy his Appa that night!! It was 11:45 p.m. He crawled towards his Appa, started eating up his nose, and came back to me and laughed! Again, he went back to his Appa and started pulling his hair. I was secretly enjoying his moves😬 Sushan, who was damn sleepy, turned towards the wall, and the lil heart started climbing him😝All these went on till 2:30 a.m It was like a n
